In normal times STAG runs monthly evening meetings, archaeology extra-mural courses, day schools, field trips, excavations, and other events. The COVID-19 health crisis means that these are not normal time and our programme of activities had to be suspended from March 2020 to July 2021. However, we are now starting to meet fact-to-face, with two trial archaeology walks in August 2021. We have two confirmed events for the autumn, in addition to three monthly meetings, which are as follows:
Autumn Archaeology Walk, September 16th: Medieval Altrincham, 2pm to 4pm, led by Hazel Pryor.
MANCENT Archaeology Class, October 6th: ‘Saving a Revolution: The Industrial World Heritage Sites of Britain’, five weekly meetings, 7pm to 9pm, tutor, Dr Mike Nevell.
You can also help the Group’s aims by making STAG a digital force. We will continue to expand this website and of course you can follow us and all the archaeology and history news from Trafford and beyond by following us on twitter: @StagArchaeology
We are also developing a number of digital projects, the first of which is the digitisation of STAG’s newsletter, Browsings. If you would like to help with this project please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Click back for further digital projects as they are developed.
