STAG runs monthly evening meetings, archaeology extra-mural courses, day schools, field trips, excavations, finds research, and other events. This are typically on a Friday either at 1.30pm or at 7.30pm. As the COVID-19 pandemic has eased we are meeting once more fact-to-face, which for 2022 are as follows:

22nd April 2022: ‘Longford Hall & Estate’ by Richard Bond
27th May 2022: Walking tour of Sale Moor looking at the evidence for enclosure – Dr Mike Nevell (1.30pm)
24th June 2022: ‘Broadheath: the World’s First Industrial Park’ by Charlotte Starkey (7.30pm)
22nd July 2022: ‘Vale Royal Abbey’ by Tony Bostock (7.30pm)
August 2022: no meeting
23rd September 2022: ‘The Archaeology of Jordan’ by Michael Tuniclffe (1.30pm)
28th September 2022: MANCENT 6 week course starts: ‘The Archaeology of the Monastery in NW England’ by Dr Mike Nevell (7pm).
28th October 2022: ‘The Celts – latest research’ by Mark Olly (7.30pm)
25th November 2022: AGM followed by talk by Dr Mike Nevell (7.30pm).
December 2022: no meeting
